ABSENCE AND LEAVE

1. Staying away from school without leave is not tolerated, except in cases of sudden illness or unforeseen circumstances. 2. No leave of absence will be granted, nor will a student be allowed to leave the school during school hours, except with written permission from the parents/guardians, duly approved by the Principal or Vice-Principals. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Reasons such as birthdays, excursions, festivals, urgent business, or time needed to study for examinations/tests are not considered valid for leave. Whenever leave is granted, the reason must be recorded in the student's Regularity Record in the School Diary, signed by the sanctioning authority and countersigned by the parent or guardian. After being absent from class, students must provide a valid reason for their absence, recorded in the Regularity Record and signed by the parent/guardian. The student should obtain the signature of the Principal/Vice-Principal before proceeding to the classroom. A medical certificate is required for absences of more than three days due to illness. Absence from class on days prior to tests or examinations is not tolerated, and marks may be deducted from subsequent tests/examinations. A student who is absent for 15 consecutive calendar days without authorization from the principal will have their name struck off the rolls and may not be re-admitted. If re-admitted, fresh admission fees will be charged. Students must not be absent on the days prior to holidays or examinations. They should rejoin the school on the reopening day after holidays. 10. Students whose unauthorized absences exceed 20% of the working days of the school year will not be allowed to sit for the Promotion Examination. 11. Students with less than 80% attendance will not be allowed to appear in the Half-Yearly or Promotion Examinations.
